The first Cencosud supermarket in Chile was in Temuco, in 1960, with a selling area of 160 m2. In the mid-1970s, we expanded our business by opening the first Jumbo hypermarket in Chile, with a selling space of 7,000 m2, located in Santiago.

In May 2007, we agreed with Casino Guirard-Perrachon S.A. to develop the home improvement business in Colombia. In 2009 Cencosud acquired Casino's stake to own 100% of the business. In October 2012, Cencosud acquired Carrefour Colombia, allowing the Company to expand its multi-brand and multi-format strategy.

Today we have 12 Easy stores in addition to and 92 Super/Hypermarkets under the Jumbo, Metro and Spid brands. We also have the Service Stations category that adds a total of 37 stores.
