The first Cencosud supermarket in Chile was in Temuco, in 1960, with a selling area of 160 square meters. In the mid-1970s, we expanded our business by opening the first Jumbo hypermarket in Chile, with a selling space of 7,000 square meters, located in Santiago.

Today we operate Jumbo, Santa Isabel and Spid35 Supermarkets, Paris and Eurofashion Department Stores, Home Improvement Stores named Easy, Shopping Centers, and JV with Scotiabank on our Financial Services.

In May 2007, we agreed with Casino Guirard-Perrachon S.A. to develop the home improvement business in Colombia. In 2009 Cencosud acquired Casino's stake to own 100% of the business. In October 2012, Cencosud acquired Carrefour Colombia, allowing the Company to expand its multi-brand and multi-format strategy.

Today, we have 10 Easy stores plus 93 Super/Hypermarkets under the brands Jumbo & Metro.
