CHILE

We trace our origins to the opening of our first supermarket in 1960 in the city of Temuco. In the mid-1970s, we expanded our business by opening the first Jumbo hypermarket in Chile, with a selling space of 7,000 square meters, located on Kennedy Avenue in Santiago. Currently, we operate through the brands Jumbo, Santa Isabel, and Spid.

ARGENTINA

281 stores with a total of 431,385 m2 of selling space

In 1982, we began our operations in Argentina with the opening of Argentina’s first Jumbo hypermarket, which had a selling space of 9,282 m2. Currently, we operate through the brands Jumbo, Vea, Disco and Spid.

BRAZIL

200 stores with a total of 526,756 m2 of selling space

We expanded our footprint in the Brazilian market through the acquisition of three main supermarket chains. In 2007, we acquired the GBarbosa supermarket chain, which operated in the northeast region. Later in 2010, we achieved what we estimated to be the largest supermarket chain in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, Bretas, which consolidated our position as Brazil’s fourth-largest supermarket operator in terms of revenues, as measured by ABRAS. In January 2012, we acquired Prezunic, estimated to be the third-largest supermarket chain in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, we operate through the brands Gbarbosa, Bretas, Prezunic, Perini, Mercantil Rodrigues and Spid.

PERU

In December 2007, we agreed to acquire GSW S.A., the operator of Wong supermarkets, hypermarkets, and shopping centers in Peru. Currently, we operate through the brands Wong, Metro and Spid.

COLOMBIA

92 stores with a total of 378,593 m2 of selling space

In 2012, Cencosud entered the Colombian supermarket industry thru the acquisition of Carrefour. Currently, Cencosud runs under the brands Jumbo, Metro and Spid.
